The Sanderling and The Sandpiper huts are situated on the outskirts of Beadnell village and are the most idyllic retreats for your stay – and we want to share their beauty and tranquillity with you.

The huts are named after our favourite little birds that put smiles on our faces every time we see them running along the coastline.
The beautifully hand crafted huts sit on cast iron wheels and are made by a local Northumberland craftsman using reclaimed materials. The huts are powered by solar energy, clad in recycled oak, insulated with sheep’s wool, featuring hand crafted oak units and fittings. In case of a chill in the evening, the huts also have log burners to keep you snug and warm. As if that is not enough, the stunning glass ceiling above the beds ensures you can continue star-gazing long into the night. In the summer why not star gaze under the Northumberland Dark Skies whilst relaxing in the wood-fired hot tub with a bottle of fizz!
Here you get back in touch with nature yet enjoy all the trappings of luxury accommodation.

The Shepherds Huts are situated in their own areas with their individual access and also adjoining gates if rented together. Wake in the morning and enjoy a cuppa in bed whilst soaking up the amazing sea views. Next to the huts you will find a beautifully crafted Scandinavian fresh water wood fired hot tub, where you can relax and enjoy the sights whilst sipping a glass of fizz, or alternatively you can relax on the patio and enjoy alfresco dining with our fantastic BBQ/pizza oven.

The huts will not fail to please you with their uniqueness and facilities and all you need is to bring yourselves and we provide the rest.

To make life even easier we will provide a complimentary breakfast pack which includes our local Ringtons tea, coffee and sugar, locally sourced fresh bread and marmalade/jam and all the basics including milk, butter and jam.

If you are celebrating a special occasion with us and would like to arrange a surprise we can offer a pack to suit eg. Picnic Hampers, Champagne, wine, flowers and chocolates.

Both huts are pet friendly

For larger groups there are other properties available within the grounds of Shepherds Retreats and this information can be found at Mains Cottages

Rural Development Growth Programme - Tourism Growth

We have been fortunate enough to develop this project with the aid from;

The European Rural Development Programme for England, Growth Programme for Tourism.

The project is to provide Luxury Glamping Accommodation in Northumberland.  This fund enabled us to purchase the build of two Shepherds Huts, cycle huts and prepare the groundworks to provide accommodation on the Northumberland Coastal Path and The Coast and Castles Route
