Shepherds Retreats certainly lives up to its name with every little detail thought of by the owners.  The Sanderling and The Sandpiper are situated on the outskirts of Beadnell village and are the most idyllic retreats for your stay – and we want to share their beauty and tranquillity with you.

The stunning golden sands of Beadnell bay are within view of the huts and only a 15 minute walk away, through the village.  So whether you want to unwind in the tranquil surroundings or have a romantic break, these huts, with private gardens are the perfect location

On an evening why not star gaze under the Northumberland Dark Skies whilst relaxing in the beautifully crafted Scandinavian fresh water wood fired hot tub with a bottle of fizz!  or alternatively you can relax on the patio and enjoy alfresco dining with our fantastic BBQ.   Or Do Both!

In case of a chill in later on, the huts have log burners to keep you snug and warm. As if that is not enough, the stunning glass ceiling above the beds ensures you can continue star-gazing long into the night.

The Shepherds Huts are situated in their own areas with individual access and also adjoining gates if rented together. Wake in the morning and enjoy a cuppa in bed whilst soaking up the amazing sea views.

Here you get back in touch with nature yet enjoy all the trappings of luxury accommodation.

The beautifully hand crafted huts sit on cast iron wheels and are made by a local Northumberland craftsman using reclaimed materials – with the flooring from; The Rex Hotel, Whitley Bay and wall cladding from old warehouses in Newcastle and York.    They are insulated with sheep’s wool and feature hand crafted oak units and fittings. We wanted to provide a back to nature experience but with some added luxury so we have used solar energy to power the lights

The huts will not fail to please you with their uniqueness and facilities and all you need is to bring yourselves and we provide the rest.

Both huts welcome the family pet too
